VoIP
is a means of transferring voice over existing data
networks therefore sharing application costs.
The
HiPath range offers a HG 1500 card that can be used
to connect a number of systems at various locations
or if your requirement is just a few handsets at a remote
location then the HG 1500 will support them also.
As
well as networking various systems VoIP can be a cost
efficient way of providing facilites on large sites
which have a number of buildings (campus working). If
there is an existing data network between the sites
very often this can be used rather than providing dedicated
voice cabling.
Finally
in certain circumstances the HG 1500 can support VoIP
over broadband to connect outworkers to your systems.
